Differences Gel Manicure - Gel Polish

What are the differences between gel nails and gel polish?

What is gel polish?

Gel polish is a hybrid form between regular nail polish and gel nails (gel manicure).

Gel polish is not a substitute for normal nail polish but is also not a replacement for artificial nails and/or gel nails. Gel polish is a new - hybrid - category of nail polish that combines the properties of a gel with those of nail polish. Just like gel nails, gel polish is also cured under a UV lamp so there is no additional drying time. Gel polish is as thin and flexible as nail polish and looks very natural. Gel polish stays on your hands for at least 14 days, and on your feet much longer and has a high gloss.

The advantages of Gel Polish

  • Up to 2 weeks of beautiful nails
  • The gel polish we use is hypoallergenic
  • Beautiful high gloss
  • Can be placed on both hands and toes
  • Odourless

What is a gel manicure (gel nails)?

The best method of nail reinforcement

The gel will only be applied to your natural nails if you just want to strengthen your natural nails. To lengthen your nails, we use so-called tips (also called a 'set' of gel nails). First a base coat is applied, followed by two color layers and finally a top coat that protects the whole. Between the different layers, the gel is cured under a special UV lamp. Gel nails last on average 3-4 weeks and have a high gloss.

The advantages of Gel Nails

  • Up to 3-4 weeks of beautiful nails
  • Very good reinforcement
  • Beautiful high gloss
  • Can be placed on both hands and toes
  • Odourless
  • Extension possible

What are the differences between gel nails and gel polish?

An overview of the difference between gel polish and gel nails.

The difference between gel polish and gel nails is mainly in the area of the reinforcement that both types of nail care offer to your natural nails, the possibility of extending your natural nails as well as the durability of both types of nail care.

When it comes to strengthening your natural nails, you should assume that only gel nails offer excellent reinforcement of your natural nails. Although gel polish will provide a little more strengthening than regular nail polish, this will not be to the same extent as gel nails.

If you want to have your natural nails extended (for example for nail biters), then gel nails are the only option.

Gel Polish stays on average 2 (up to 3 weeks) on your hands and on your toenails even 6 to 8 weeks. Gel nails keep on average 3-4 weeks.
